As per Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Support Personnel, for every over bowled outside the allotted time, the team should be fined 5% of its total match fee.

The match referee shared the findings with Perth test's on-field umpires Joel Wilson and Richard Illingworth, third umpire Michael Gough, and fourth umpire Donovan Koch, who all agreed with the same.

Later, the report was shared with Pakistan captain Shan Masood, who accepted the charges and the sanctions imposed likewise.

Additionally, the slow over-rate sanctions also resulted in deductions of two crucial World Test Championship (WTC) points. As per Article 16.11.2 of the WTC playing conditions, for every over short, the team has to be penalized with one point each.

With that, Pakistan has slipped to second place in the WTC standings, and the percentage point also witnessed a dip from 66.67 to 61.11.
