The ongoing ICC World Test Championship (2023-25 cycle) has thrown some interesting surprises, with Team India finding itself in the second position, following a drawn contest against the West Indies at the historic Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The last day's play saw no action, leaving the match in a draw. Despite this, India managed to seal the series 1-0.

India stands second in WTC standings 2023-25

India have bolstered their standing with 16 points, coming from a victorious game and a drawn match. The team's impressive points percentage (PCT) of 66.67 reflects their solid performance so far.

On the other hand, West Indies find themselves in the fifth position with just four points from their loss and draw, with a PCT of 16.67. They will be looking to turn their fortunes around in the upcoming matches.

Notably, Pakistan has surged to the top of the Championship table with 12 points, riding high on their victory over Sri Lanka in the first Test at Galle. The win has given Pakistan an enviable PCT of 100, being undefeated in the WTC thus far.

Meanwhile, Australia and England hold third and fourth positions, respectively. Australia, with a healthy 26 points, have secured two wins, along with a single defeat and a draw. Their PCT stands at 54.17, boosted by a fortunate draw in the fourth Ashes 2023 Test at Old Trafford, Manchester, courtesy of a last-minute downpour.

England is trailing with 14 points. Their journey has been a mixed bag so far, with one victory, two defeats, and a drawn match, reflecting a PCT of 29.17.

Finally, Sri Lanka, yet to open their account in WTC, are bracing to prove their mettle in the ongoing Test against Pakistan at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo. Their performance in the upcoming matches will be critical to their standing in the table.
