To be played in the shadow of the Indian Premier League (IPL), New Zealand will be touring Pakistan for a five-match T20I and ODI series in the month of April.

However, with few days left in the series to begin, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a change in schedule with matches shifted a day ahead.

The T20I series will now begin on 14th of April as compared to 13th and will end on 24th against the initially decided 23rd April. Moreover, the ODI series will be having the same starting and ending dates but the in-between second, third and fourth one-dayers will now be held on 30 April, and 3 and 5 May respectively.

The change was disclosed by the board in a press release which stated that matches won't a part of the ICC ODI Super League.

What statement from PCB mentioned,

“This is an additional tour by the New Zealand cricket team and the matches will count towards ICC Team Rankings.

“The ODIs will help Pakistan to prepare their side for the ACC Asia Cup and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, while the T20I will assist the PCB to continue with their rebuilding of the side for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the USA and West Indies in June/July 2024.”

The matches will be held in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi which will see both sides clashing in a bid to prepare for the Asia Cup and World Cup slated to be played later this year.
