The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season is just weeks away, and all franchises are busy fine-tuning their sides, with last-minute replacements and new entrants on the back-room staff.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have undergone a complete change this season, with new captain Aiden Markram and new coach Brian Lara marshalling the troops after a disappointing 2022 edition.

Lara takes over the reins from former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody.

Continuing with the trend, SRH have roped in Netherlands head coach Ryan Cook as their fielding coach for the 2023 season and will be part of a star-studded support staff consisting of Dale Steyn and Muthiah Muralitharan.

Cook replaces former Indian batter Hemang Badani, who is now SRH's batting coach.

Cook will miss the Netherlands' upcoming series against Zimbabwe and South Africa, where Ryan van Niekerk will work as an interim coach.  Cook had earlier worked with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 during their title-winning campaign this year.

Cook has also worked with the Bangladesh national team as a fielding consultant, apart from having stints with the Hobart Hurricanes, South Africa's A, and Under-19 sides.
