Pakistan cricket have decided to try out something different as the pitch at the Rawalpindi Stadium for the first Test against Bangladesh will be a green top.

For the last couple of home seasons, Pakistan cricket have been heavily criticised for the pitches they have produced, due to the imbalance between bat and ball. However, the new PCB Chairman, Moshin Naqvi is trying to improve that image.

As per sources, the reason behind this move is to boost their own pace attack. Pakistan have plethora of pace bowlers, but the history of their pitches meant that their abilities were often outshined by the batters.

However, this time around, PCB is looking to play according to their strengths as a WTC finale spot hangs in the balance. The home team will need to beat Bangladesh 2-0 to stay alive in the race for WTC final.

Recently, PCB hired a foreign curator from Australia, to curate their pitches for all the home season matches and the Champions Trophy.

The series against Bangladesh starts from August 21. The first Test will take place in Rawalpindi, while the second Test commences in Karachi. The tour was in jeopardy because of the political turmoil in Bangladesh, but the Tigers arrived in time for the series, as it is about to get underway.
