However, things could take an ugly turn ahead of the upcoming crucial series for the Tigers. Due to the political unrest, the airbase has been closed, and all the flights are getting cancelled.

Moreover, there is a sense of security threat, which the players face. As a result, players like Shakib Al Hasan will not travel back to Bangladesh, and there is also dark clouds looming over his participation in the series.

The big question arises, what if Bangladesh's both the series (against Pakistan, and India) get cancelled?

As per the rules, if the country fails to travel to another nation for a scheduled series, the home team gets the walkover and will get all the points. In this case, Pakistan will earn crucial points, in their quest to reach the WTC finals.

Similarly, India, who are at the top of the table, will get the points, and will strengthen their position in the points table. With a series walkover, Bangladesh will also drop down in the table, and will be at the last position.
