India are staring at an embarrassing series defeat as Rohit Sharma's men are on the verge of losing the second Test match Vs New Zealand in Pune. Chasing a tricky 359, the home side have already lost 7 wickets against a resilient Kiwi attack.

The Indian batters have been uninspiring throughout the series as they have failed to tackle the Kiwi spin bowlers, especially Mitch Santner. The off-break bowler wreaked havoc in the Pune Test and has already bagged 10-wickets in the contest. 

Barring Yashasvi Jaiswal, all the other batters struggled and couldn't counter the spin threat. A lot was expected of senior batters like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, but even they disappointed as India crumbled under immense pressure.

With the Indian batters struggling, fans remembered VVS Laxman, the great India batter who used to bail India out of tricky situations and used to stand like a brick wall, whenever his side needed him to deliver.

Who can forget Laxman's 281 against Australia in 2001. The iconic knock at the Eden Gardens will forever be etched in the memories of the fans. Laxman, alongside Rahul Dravid batted for almost two days as the home side came back from the brink of defeat to stitch a memorable win.

He once again became Australia's nemesis in 2010, when Laxman batted with tailenders and forged crucial partnership with Pragyan Ojha to seal India's 1-wicket win against the Aussies.

VVS Laxman used to bat well under pressure and made a habit of playing match-winning knocks under pressure, something which the fans still remember after seeing India's disasterclass.
