India star batter Virat Kohli wasted no time preparing for the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Hours after India's crushing 10-wicket loss to Australia in Adelaide, Kohli was back in the nets, working hard to regain his form ahead of the next game in Brisbane.

Kohli, who scored a stunning century in the series opener, struggled in Adelaide, managing just 7 and 11 runs in the two innings. Despite the poor outing, his dedication stood out, as he faced fast bowlers in practice soon after the match ended.

Sunil Gavaskar Praises Kohli's Work Ethic

Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was full of praise for Kohli’s determination, urging other players to follow his example.

"By going out in the nets today, he shows his dedication. But that is what I would like to see from everybody else. He's not scored runs. He is very proud of what he achieves and does for India, and because he's not scored runs in this game, he's out in the nets," Gavaskar said on Star Sports.

"He's working hard, he's sweating, and that is what you want to see. After that if you get out, no problem, because that's what sport is all about. You will get runs one day, will get wickets one day, next day you will not. But you've got to put in the effort. He is putting in the hard yards, he is putting in the effort, and that's why I won't be surprised if he's back amongst the runs in the next game," Gavaskar added.

Pat Cummins Lead Australia To Seal The Win In 2nd Test

Australia dominated the pink-ball Test, levelling the series 1-1 within just two-and-a-half days. India, starting the final day at 128 for 5, managed only 175 runs in their second innings, avoiding an innings defeat thanks to a gritty 42 by Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Pat Cummins led the Australian bowling attack with a stunning 5 for 57, while Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc chipped in with key wickets. Australia needed just 19 runs to seal the victory, which they achieved in 3.2 overs.

India’s batting unit, which lasted only 81 overs across both innings, has plenty to work on before the third Test in Brisbane, starting from December 14.
