New Zealand opener, Devon Conway, will skip the third Test against England in Hamilton to be with his wife, Kim, as they await the birth of their first child. The team announced the change on Monday, emphasizing that family comes first.

Squad Changes for the Final Test

Conway, who has been struggling with form, will be replaced by Mark Chapman. Chapman has been in good touch recently, scoring a remarkable 276 in the domestic Plunket Shield. New Zealand coach Gary Stead expressed full support for Conway’s decision.

"Family comes first in this environment, and we’re all excited for Dev and Kim as they welcome their first child," Stead said.

The Black Caps are also considering Will Young, who missed the first two Tests, for the final match. Young had an outstanding performance during New Zealand’s recent 3-0 sweep of India, earning the Player of the Series award. However, he was dropped for the England series to make room for Kane Williamson.

Devon Conway's Recent Form

Conway hasn’t been at his best in this series, scoring only 11 and 0 in New Zealand’s second Test loss to England by 323 runs. This defeat marked New Zealand's second straight loss, ruling them out of contention for the ICC World Test Championship Final.
