The doctors at NCA examined him and advised the youngster to go for a surgery, which he did. As per reports, the BCCI was in direct contact with the player, monitoring his health status.

In the ongoing DPL, Dhull has had disappointing numbers, and after another low score of 8 off 11 balls against East Delhi Riders, the Under-19 World Cup winning captain opened up about his condition.

"Certain things have happened in the past, and I have returned after a recovery. It’s taking time but I am positive and will give 100% for my game," Dhull said to News18.

His father, Vijay Dhull further added: “It wasn’t anything serious. The hole in the heart was a condition from birth and the NCA team advised a minor surgical procedure. He underwent that in Delhi only and the BCCI continued to keep a check on him during the period."

Dhull was the captain of the Indian side which won the Under-19 World Cup in 2022. His team defeated England by 4-wickets to clinch the title. Last year, Dhull was also made the captain of the Delhi state team, as he displaced senior member Nitish Rana from the position.
