Cricket Nepal has unveiled Nepal’s 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. The Nepal cricket team is set to makes it second successive appearance in a T20 World Cup next month, and their third overall after qualifying for the 2014 and 2024 events.

Young batting all-rounder Rohit Paudel is set to continue as Nepal captain, with Dipendra Singh Airee serving as his deputy.

Nepal unleashes strong squad for T20 World Cup 2026

On Tuesday, January 6, Cricket Nepal announced Nepal men’s squad for next month’s 2026 ICC T20 World Cup. Captain Rohit Paudel and his deputy Dipendra Singh Airee will continue to helm the national side at the showpiece event.

Ace spinner Sandeep Lamichhane was also included in the squad alongside fellow tweaker Lalit Rajbanshi and young fast bowler Nandan Yadav. Aasif Sheikh was elected as Nepal’s primary wicketkeeper option, and he made it into the team alongside his brother and top-order batter Aarif Sheikh. Here is a look at the entire 15-player Nepal squad for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

Rohit Paudel (c), Dipendra Singh Airee (vc), Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Sundeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh, Basir Ahamad, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Gulshan Jha, Lalit Rajbanshi, Sher Malla and Lokesh Bam

The Nepal cricket team is placed in Group C of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup alongside England, Italy, West Indies and Bangladesh. Under the leadership of Rohit Paudel, they will launch their tournament campaign on February 8 with a match against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

It is worth noting that Nepal qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup by winning six matches on the trot at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and EAP Qualifier back in October last year.
