Here, we take a look at the entire highlights from the final match of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season between Bihar and Manipur, as it panned out at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi on Tuesday, January 6.
Shabbir Khan skittles Manipur with seven-fer
Manipur batted first and bundled out for just 169 in 47.5 overs. As many as four Manipur batters were dismissed for ducks, and another three were packed for single-digit scores by Bihar bowlers. For Manipur, opening batter Ulenyai Khwairakpam himself made 61 of those runs from 112 balls, while middle-order batter Pheiroijam Jotin cracked 51 off 89 as the two cricketers themselves compounded 112 of their team’s 169-run total.
Bihar quick Shabbir Khan scythed through Manipur’s line-up with a scintillating seven-wicket haul, conceding just 30 runs in the process in his eight overs. Young left-arm spinner Himanshu Tiwari accounted for the remaining three wickets of the innings to claim figures of 3-23.
Ayush Loharuka anchors Bihar chase with sublime 75
Bihar opener Piyush Singh started off with a 21-run knock in his 35-run opening partnership with Mangal Mahrour before falling to Bishworjit Konthoujam in the ninth over of the innings. Mahrour composed 32 from 37 with five boundaries, while number three batter Ayush Loharuka top-scored in the run-chase with an attacking 72-ball 75 with 11 cracking boundaries.
A wicket each from Kishan Thokchom, L Kishan Singha and Pheiroijam Jotin made little difference to Manipur’s fortunes as Bihar marched on to secure a comprehensive six-wicket win in just 31.2 overs to clinch the Plate Group of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season.
