As per emerging reports, veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli is all set to miss the final three Tests of the ongoing series against England.

Notably, Kohli, who opted out of the first two matches citing personal reasons, is unlikely to feature in the remaining three fixtures as reported by ESPN Cricinfo. As per the report, Kohli will be unavailable for the third and fourth Tests, while his participation in the decider remains uncertain.

To those unversed, Kohli flew back to his home hours after landing in Hyderabad ahead of the first Test of the series. While Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy rumour was thought to be the reason behind Kohli’s withdrawal from the first two games, the BCCI asked the fans to respect the legendary cricketer’s privacy, offering him unwavering support through an official statement.

KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja to return in Rajkot Test?

On the other hand, experienced players KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja have progressed well and are expected to regain match-fitness before the third Test in Rajkot. If they make it into the playing XI, Rajat Patidar and Kuldeep Yadav will likely be benched, with the out-of-form Shreyas Iyer and KS Bharat getting one last opportunity.

Furthermore, Mohammed Siraj, who was rested for the second Test, is set to make his comeback into the Indian playing XI. The seamer from Hyderabad will replace Mukesh Kumar, who struggled to get going in Visakhapatnam.
