Virat Kohli to join Agilitas Sports
As per a report from CNBC TV18, Virat Kohli is set to become the brand ambassador of Indian company Agilitas Sports. Notably, the company is founded by former managing director of PUMA India, Abhishek Ganguly. Ganguly was part of the PUMA team when Kohli joined the German brand back in 2017.
Apart from endorsing Agilitas Sports, the cricketer will also own a stake in the company. Agilitas Sports was launched back in May 2023 and has already bagged Rs.100 crore in funding from Nexus Venture.
On the cricketing front, Virat Kohli recently represented the Indian team in their three-match T20I home series against Afghanistan.
The 35-year-old subsequently opted out of the Indian squad from their first two Test matches against the visiting English team, citing personal reasons. In his absence, Team India fell to a 28-run defeat in the series opener at Hyderabad, but bounced back to trounce Ben Stokes and co. by 106 runs in Vizag to level the five-match rubber 1-1.
With Kohli expecting the birth of his second child with his wife Anushka Sharma, his availability for the third Test at Rajkot is yet to be confirmed at this stage. Indian head coach Rahul Dravid himself confirmed that the team management will soon be clarifying the cricketer’s stance over his participation for the rest of the series.
