Mumbai Indians gear up for a pivotal daytime clash against Lucknow Super Giants in Sunday’s IPL double-header opener. Batting coach Kieron Pollard highlighted the team’s focused preparations during a pre-match press conference.

As the league approaches its decisive stages, the five-time champions aim to secure crucial points to solidify their top-four position after their recent win against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets.

Pollard Happy To See Rohit Back In Form

When questioned in a media interaction, Kieron Pollard backed Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav amid their recent return to form.

“We knew everyone would be singing their praises later in the season. We knew it was going to happen,” he said.

When questioned about the team’s mindset, Kieron Pollard was clear on the game plan as he addressed the pressure of the tournament’s second half.

“We’re never really happy or satisfied with what we’ve achieved. We are still trying to improve and win the critical moments of the game. Every team views the season differently—some start strong while others peak in the second half. However, for MI, every phase of the IPL is equally important,” Pollard stated.

Pollard Praises Hardik

The coach reserved special praise for Hardik Pandya’s all-round contributions.

“Hardik is enjoying his cricket, as we’ve seen in his international performances too. For me, it’s great to see someone who has faced challenges, both on and off the field, make such a strong comeback. Sometimes, we need to give people a little leeway,” Pollard remarked.

Riding a three-match winning streak, MI has surged into the playoff bracket, with Pollard underscoring the importance of sustaining their rhythm. If they continue this momentum, there will be no-stopping of the five-time champions to go for the sixth title as well.
