Nasser Hussain gives England the cheat code for World Cup success

Nasser Hussain has urged England team management to go with a deep batting unit in the T20 World Cup 2022

Currently, England are gearing up to secure their second T20 World Cup title. They are coming into the showpiece event following a T20I series victory over Australia earlier this month.

The series witnessed them being bowling heavy in the absence of Liam Livingstone.

However, with the return of Livingstone, combinations are expected to be changed for the Three Lions in the tournament. The swashbuckling batter is also useful with his leg spin and can give the team two-three overs each match.

With Alex Hales and Jos Buttler fixed at the top, one of the frontline bowlers or all-rounders is set to make room for Livingstone.

According to Hussain, England should play with all the batters, keeping explosive Livingstone at number seven. The 54-year-old added that a prolific batter provides depth to the English team, which he feels is missing in the Pakistan team, who rely on openers.

Here's what Hussain wrote in his column for the Daily Mail

"I would pick all the batters, which probably means playing Livingstone at seven. In the early days of T20, the stats told you it was a position hardly worth worrying about because the number seven faced so few balls. But having batting depth means England can go ballistic all the way through."

England will kick off their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against Afghanistan on Saturday (October 22) at Perth. It will be interesting to see the approach of English management in their combination.
