In a remarkable turn of events, Bangladesh legend Shakib Al Hasan has acquired the top spot in the all-rounders' category in the updated ICC T20I rankings. The Tigers captain overtook his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Nabi to attain this phenomenal feat.

Shakib had a dream outing in the recently concluded T20I tri-series in New Zealand, amassing 154 runs at an impressive average of 51.33 and a blistering strike rate of 150.98. Such an extraordinary string of performances saw the veteran all-rounder's rise in the rankings.

Among others, star Namibian all-rounder JJ Smit jumped four places to fourth, while Zimbabwe veteran Sikandar Raza leapt four spots to the seventh position on the list.

On the other hand, the batters' list hasn't witnessed any notable changes, with Mohammad Rizwan and Suryakumar Yadav continuing to occupy the first and second positions, respectively. However, his impressive returns in the tri-series on home soil have led to Glenn Phillips' exponential rise by 13 spots to number 10.

Ace Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood continues to sit at the top, while Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman (up two spots to fifth) and his South African counterpart Keshav Maharaj (up one place to eighth) have made significant gains in the bowlers' rankings.
