T20 World Cup 2022: Pietersen backs KL Rahul to stack up runs for India

Indian opener and vice-captain KL Rahul has been one of the talking points owing to his hot and cold form preceding the T20 World Cup 2022. Rahul, before India's last warm-up match against Australia failed to deliver any worthwhile performances. 

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has lauded praise on the star batter following his 57 off 33 ball run-score against the mighty Australia. 

What Pietersen said 

“I love him. I think he is the No. 1 batter in the world at the moment. He is absolutely fantastic. With the ball bouncing, swinging and seaming, I think he plays in a very authentic way and is correct enough to rack up the runs,"

When talking about the positives of Rahul's recent performances, the opener has stacked up runs against more than a few opponents. The batter scored a 62 against Afghanistan in the Super 4 group in the Asia Cup 2022. And the most talked about being his half-century against Australia in the warm-up game.
