Mumbai’s women’s cricket team has done it again. On Tuesday, Humaira Kaazi and her squad defended their Senior Women’s T20 Trophy title with ease. Playing at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai crushed Bengal by 10 wickets, chasing down a small target of 86 in no time. With this win, Mumbai became the second team after Railways to win back-to-back titles in this tournament.

Mumbai Trounced Bengal to Win Senior Women’s T20 Trophy

Bengal Struggles to Put Up Runs

Bengal opted to bat first but had a rough time right from the start. They got bowled out for just 85. Dhara Gujjar tried to keep things steady, scoring 26 off 38 balls, but Bengal never found any real momentum. Hrishita Basu and Titas Sadhu added 32 runs for the seventh wicket, but it wasn’t enough to get them past 100.

Mumbai’s bowlers did a fantastic job. Jagravi Pawar stood out with three wickets for just 13 runs in her four overs, keeping Bengal’s batters under pressure. Saumya Singh also bowled well, taking two wickets for 11 runs. Fatima Jaffer got Gujjar out, while Saima Thakor, who recently made her international debut, bowled two economical overs.

Mumbai Openers Finish the Job

Chasing 86, Mumbai’s openers made sure there were no hiccups. Kaazi and Vrushali Bhagat looked comfortable and chased down the target in just 12.3 overs. Kaazi, who played in the Women’s Premier League for Mumbai Indians Women, scored an unbeaten 41 off 36 balls, hitting five fours and a six. Her partner, Bhagat, also played a sensible knock by scoring 45 off 39 balls with six fours.

Their unbeaten partnership of 86 runs made the chase a complete cakewalk. Bengal’s bowlers were clueless against Mumbai batters. Titas Sadhu had a particularly tough day as she leaked 26 runs in just 2.3 overs.

Back-to-Back Glory for Mumbai

With this win, Mumbai clinched their second consecutive title in style. It was a dominant day at the Wankhede, with Mumbai’s women proving they’re one of the top teams in domestic cricket.
