Indian women’s all-rounder Shreyanka Patil made a flamboyant entrance at the red carpet of the Indian Sports Honours 2024 awards. The 22-year-old was nominated under the ‘Breakthrough Performance of the Year Female’ category alongside sport shooter Esha Singh, swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu and women’s hockey captain Salima Tete.

As it turned out, Shreyanka pipped the three to bag the prestigious honour at the ceremony organized on Saturday, November 9.

Shreyanka Patil, surrounded by a slew of media personnel, donned a blue attire for the Indian Sports Honours 2024 awards. While making her entrance into the ceremony, she even posed at the red carpet for the cameras.

Shreyanka Patil made her international debut back in December last year during India Women’s home season against the visiting English and Australian teams. In the year 2024 so far, she picked up 15 wickets in 13 T20I matches and bagged four additional wickets from two ODI appearances.

Shreyanka played a crucial role in India’s 3-0 ODI series win over South Africa Women at home in June, and also delivered a match-defining spell in India’s series-levelling win in the T20Is the following month against the same opponents. Moreover, she was part of the RCB Women’s team that won the WPL 2024 season earlier this year.

The 22-year-old won the ‘Breakthrough Performance of the Year Female’ award at the Indian Sports Honours 2024 ceremony by defeating her fellow nominees Esha Singh, Dhinidhi Desinghu and Salima Tete.

Apart from Shreyanka Patil, rising Indian opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal won under the ‘Breakthrough Performance of the Year Male’ category, defeating fellow cricketer Rinku Singh as well as Indian hockey star Abhishek Nain and sports shooter Sarabjot Singh.
