In a significant development, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a formidable squad of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the upcoming Asia Cup tournament. As expected, talismanic all-rounder Muhammad Waseem has been named as the UAE captain for the showpiece event.
UAE Unveil Power-packed Team For Asia Cup
On Thursday, the United Arab Emirates unveiled a robust 17-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025. Muhammad Waseem will lead the UAE in the competition, while experienced cricketers like Alishan Sharafu, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Jawadullah and Asif Khan are expected to play crucial roles for the side.
Rahul Chopra, who has oozed his class in the ongoing Tri-Nation series, is expected to play a key role for the Gulf nation. Meanwhile, the eyes will also be on Saghir Khan, considering he has exhibited red-hot form in the Tri-Series on home soil.
Saghir has bagged five wickets, including a clinical three-wicket haul, at a superb strike rate of 9.60 in the tournament. So, he could be one of the go-to men for UAE with the ball in the upcoming Asia Cup edition.
