MS Dhoni Included Or Not? Adam Gilchrist Picks His Top 3 Wicketkeepers

Adam Gilchrist is one of the finest wicketkeepers to ever play the game, and truly revolutionised the way wicketkeepers approach their batting. The Aussie was known for his aggressive style of play and was a big asset for the Kangaroos during their dominant period in the first decade of the 21st century.

There are hardly any hatters of Adam Gilchrist around, but it is always interesting to find out who he admires as a wicketkeeper. He has now revealed his favourites in an interview to Times of India, and it includes Indian skipper MS Dhoni. The Aussie praised the coolness and calmness of Dhoni while he also named Rodney Marsh, the former Australian wicketkeeper as his idol.

Gilchrist Praises Sangakkara's Classy Batting

Gilchrist named Kumar Sangakkara as his third favourite and called him a very classy batter who could bat at the top of the order along with his wicketkeeping skills.

“Rodney Marsh, he was my idol. That’s who I wanted to be. MS Dhoni… I like his coolness. He did it his way, always calm. And Kumar Sangakkara. He was so classy in everything he did, batting high up the order and with his keeping skills.” 

After his retirement, Gilchrist was associated with Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab in IPL, and currently works as a broadcaster for Fox Sports.
