Kane Williamson's Fifth Century At Seddon Park
Kane Williamson’s love affair with Seddon Park is match made in heaven and this continued as he struck his fifth consecutive Test century at the venue. He made history by becoming the first batter ever to score five consecutive centuries at a single venue in Test cricket.
The record-breaking streak at this ground began in 2019 when Williamson scored a magnificent unbeaten 200 against Bangladesh.
Then he made a classy 104* against England later that year, and then an incredible double century against the West Indies. The 34-year-old’s century against England also saw him join the elite list. With 33 Test centuries, he equaled Alastair Cook and Steve Smith, moving further up the all-time list of century-makers in the longest format of the game.
This century also added another feather to Williamson’s cap as it was his 11th century in WTC history. His 33rd Test pushed him ahead of Harry Brook and Yashasvi Jaiswal, both of whom have five centuries in the current WTC cycle.
