After a lot of anticipation, the Asian Cricket Council finally revealed the full schedule of the Asia Cup 2025. The tournament kicks off on September 9, and the grand finale will take place on September 28. The event will take place in UAE, amid the speculations of India's potential boycott of the event.
Interestingly, arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been kept in the same group (Group A), and the other two teams in their group are the UAE and Oman. The Indian side is the defending champions, and will be eager to retain the crown, and unlike the last time, the Asia Cup this time will be in T20 format.
The format has been designed in such a way that two of the best teams of the tournament, India and Pakistan could potentially face each other thrice in the tournament.
How India and Pakistan could play hat-trick of games at Asia Cup
For starters, the two are once again put in the same group, which doesn't come in as a surprise since India-Pakistan games generate revenues in high numbers. Their group stage match will take place on September 14.
The format of the tournament has been designed in such a way that top two teams from each group will proceed to the Super 4 stage, and every team will face each other once.
In such a scenario, if India, and Pakistan, both manage to reach the Super 4's, then they will once again collide in the battle of supremacy.
In a scenario where the two sides once again come out on top and reach the finale, they will once again meet in a match that will crown the champions of the Asia Cup.
