ACC Chief Mohsin Naqvi Makes Asia Cup Schedule Public; India To Face Pakistan On September 14

In a significant development, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Mohsin Naqvi released the much-awaited Asia Cup schedule on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). As per the schedule,. the tournament kickstarts on 9th September, with arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, crossing swords against each other on the 14th of the month. 

Asia Cup Schedule Released; India, Pakistan In Same Group

India and Pakistan have had a fierce cricketing rivalry over the years. However, their clash in the Asia Cup was jeopardised after India conducted multiple airstrikes targeting the terrorist bases in Pakistan following the heinous Pahalgam attack. 

However, amid the speculations of India's potential boycott of the event, the BCCI virtually attended the ACC meeting in Dhaka, with all cricketing bodies deciding in favour of conducting the multi-national event. 

As a result, the Asia Cup is finally going to happen in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28.

Asia Cup 2025 Group-Stage Fixtures

The group-stage begins with a cracking encounter between Afghanistan and Hong Kong, with India playing their opening game the following day. 

India and Pakistan are placed in Group-A alongside Oman and UAE, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong are in Group-B.

This year's Asia Cup will be played in the T20I format, with two best teams from each group qualifying for the super four round. The top two sides from the super four will enter the final which is scheduled on September 28.
