India’s ace speedster Arshdeep Singh found a place in the Asia Cup 2025 clash against Oman to play his first match of the tournament and picked up one wicket, taking his overall T20I tally to 100 wickets.

On this achievement, his teammate and currently out of fray, Mohammed Siraj, who is not part of the Asia Cup squad, congratulated him on Instagram.

Siraj Heartily Wishes Arshdeep!

Taking to his official Instagram handle on September 20, Siraj shared a story featuring a picture of Arshdeep Singh celebrating his 100th wicket, writing a heartfelt caption to congratulate him personally.

"Congratulations paaji, many more to come...rab khush rakhee," wrote Siraj in the caption to the story. Siraj’s warm wishes quickly won hearts on social media, earning praise from fans for the brotherly bond between the two bowlers.

Mohammed Siraj himself has 123 wickets from 41 Test matches and only 14 wickets from 16 T20I games, highlighting the milestone Arshdeep has achieved early in his career. Notably, Arshdeep claimed his 100th T20I wicket in his 64th game, maintaining a decent economy rate of 8.31 in the format with an impressive strike rate of 13.3. He also boasts a 4-wicket haul in T20Is.

Arshdeep Bags 100th Wicket - But At What Cost?

Arshdeep Singh came in as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested ahead of India’s highly anticipated September 21 clash against Pakistan in the Super 4 round.

In the match against Oman, however, Arshdeep was not particularly economical, conceding 37 runs in 4 overs while picking up the wicket of Vinayak Shukla.

Despite this, India emerged victorious, though Oman’s bowlers gave them a scare. Aamir Kaleem, Jiten Ramanandi, and Faizal Shah each took two wickets, sending back Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and Shivam Dube, with Sanju Samson standing out with his record-breaking 56-run innings. While Oman lost by 21 runs, dismissing 8 Indian wickets was a notable achievement for them.
