Former Pakistan speed merchant Mohammad Amir, known for his finesse in left-arm pace bowling, expressed his admiration for New Zealand's Trent Boult, naming him his favourite modern-era fast bowler.

The left-arm pacer called time on his international career back in 2020 in protest over the treatment he had received from the Pakistan management. He had served a ban for spot-fixing before returning back to the team.

Once hailed as a promising young pace sensation, Amir's potential seems to have slipped away. He has been a freelance cricketer, minus international cricket, taking his game to different franchise leagues around the world.

Amir recently took to Twitter to share a video expressing his admiration for Trent Boult, and naming the New Zealand pacer as his favourite bowler of the current era.

The clip showcases Amir and Boult offering advice on seam positioning to England's Luke Wood. Amir captioned the post:

“With my favourite bowler of this era one and only Trent Boult.”

Even with his achievements in T10 leagues and other franchise tournaments, Amir has made it clear that a comeback to international cricket is not in his plans. In a media session earlier this year, he restated his retirement, voicing his conviction that it's time for the younger players to lead the way.
