The veteran Pakistan pacer, Mohammad Amir, was at his best as his team, New York Strikers, defeated Team Abhi Dhabi in the latest T10 League contest. He conceded 7 runs for 3 wickets from his 2 overs and took New York Strikers to a spectacular 10-wicket win in a must-win game.

Mohammad Amir is the 32-year-old fast bowler from Pakistan, who has not been a part of the national setup since the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Amir performed decently well, but his team crashed out of the league stages.

To begin with, Amir knocked over dangerman Phil Salt’s stumps to send him packing for a duck. He later dismissed Muhammad Irfan and Allah Ghazanfar to complete his 3-wicket-haul as Abu Dhabi finished with 73/7 in the first innings.

Meanwhile, Kusal Perera unleashed carnage with the bat to slam 56 off 26 balls as New York Strikers wrapped up the marginal chase in 6.2 overs to stay alive for the playoff race. Without a doubt, Amir was awarded the Player Of the Match trophy for his sensational and match-winning.

Mohammad Amir is currently the joint second leading wicket-taker in Abu Dhabi T10 League with 6 wickets in 4 games at an economy of 7.62.

Amir in PCB’s plans for Champions Trophy 2025

PCB, currently in rebuilding stage, has begun preparations for Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan cricket team will be led by Mohammad Rizwan with Aaqib Javed acting as interim coach. That being said, as per rumours, Mohammad Amir is in talks with the PCB to mark a return. He could likely replace underperforming Shaheen Afridi to be Pakistan’s leading pacer again.
