In a flagrant incident of alleged misuse of authority during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match in Multan, former Pakistan speedster, Mohammad Amir has publicly criticized the Deputy Commissioner of Multan for purportedly mistreating his family members. The controversy unfolded during the high-stakes Match 11 of PSL 2024 between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans, drawing widespread attention.

Mohammad Amir blasts authorities after mistreatment of family

Amir, representing Quetta Gladiators, revealed that his family was abruptly removed from their seats by security personnel, allegedly under the orders of the Deputy Commissioner.

Taking to his Twitter account, Mohammad Amir expressed his disappointment over the incident by highlighting the 'unacceptable behaviour' and 'abuse of power' that left his family in distress. Amir also urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to address the misconduct and hold the responsible parties accountable.

‘Shocked by the unacceptable behavior of the Deputy Commissioner of Multan, who reportedly mistreated my family, arrogantly claiming ownership of the ground & unjustly ejecting them during a match. This abuse of power is intolerable! Urging authorities for immediate action,” wrote Amir.

Notably, reports also surfaced that the families of renowned cricketers Moin Khan and Umar Amin faced similar harassment at the stadium which has further raised concerns over the conduct of officials in charge of PSL 2024.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old pacer is currently showcasing his talent in the ongoing tournament. Despite his commendable performance with four wickets in as many games at an average of 34.5 and an economy of 8.62, the incident has overshadowed his bowling brilliance and has raised questions over PSL 2024’s management.
