The 37-year-old, who last played for England in the semi-final at the 2024 T20 World Cup in Guyana, confirmed that he will now focus on playing in domestic and franchise leagues globally.

Moeen Ali's Esteemed International Career

Moeen Ali made his debut for England in 2014 and had a distinguished international career. He featured in 68 Tests, 138 ODIs, and 92 T20Is. He accumulated 6678 runs, including eight centuries and 28 fifties, while also picking up 366 wickets across all formats.

His all-round abilities were pivotal in numerous England victories, and he was part of the squads that clinched the 2019 ODI World Cup and the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Reflecting on his retirement, Moeen expressed disappointment at not being selected for the series against Australia but acknowledged that the England team is undergoing a period of transition.

"I'm 37 years old and didn't get picked for this month's Australia series," "I've played a lot of cricket for England. It's time for the next generation, which was also explained to me. It felt the time was right. I've done my part." Moeen told Daily Mail in an interview.

He scored 2355 runs and took 111 wickets in ODIs, while in T20Is, he notched 1229 runs at a strike rate of 142.41 and claimed 51 wickets. His versatility, particularly in the shorter formats, made him a crucial member of England's World Cup-winning teams.
