If there is a comeback, it should be like Rishabh Pant's. After news broke on December 30, 2022, that Pant had been in a serious car accident and sustained a severe injury, the entire world held its breath. 

There were fears that he might never play cricket again. However, 634 days later, Pant made a remarkable comeback, displaying his top form and dominating the bowlers in the recently concluded Test cricket against Bangladesh.

Rishabh Pant's Return To Test Cricket In 2024

Rishabh Pant made a heroic return in the 2024 Test series against Bangladesh in Chennai. His return was highly anticipated, and his journey from recovery to comeback was lauded by fans and experts alike. 

The southpaw smashed 109 off 128 balls, which included 13 fours and four sixes. The keeper-batter added 167 runs for the fourth wicket with Gill (119 off 176 balls) and helped lift India from 67/3 to 287/4 declared in their second essay. In his comeback knock, Pant showed signs of the patience and fearless cricketer he had always played.

These photos capture the range of emotions and experiences he has encountered since his return to test cricket.

Before his accident, Pant had played one of his finest Test innings against Bangladesh in December 2022. In the second Test match of the tour in Mirpur, he scored a match-winning 93 off 104 balls and rescued India from a precarious position at 94/4 in the second innings. 

His aggressive and fearless batting and support from Ravichandran Ashwin helped India to chase the target of 145 and win the match by three wickets. It is worth mentioning that, India will next face Bangladesh on September 27 at Green Park in Kanpur.
