In a phenomenal achievement, stylish Indian batter Riyan Parag has eclipsed Virat Kohli to claim the prestigious orange cap in the ongoing Indian Premier League season. 

Parag, who is representing Rajasthan Royals, attained the landmark during his side's triumphant IPL 2024 outing against Mumbai Indians this evening. 

Parag emerged as the most successful batter for the Royals, guiding them to glory through a flawless 39-ball 54*-run knock. Thus, he equalled with Kohli's tally of 181 IPL 2024 runs, eventually earning the orange cap based on his superior strike rate.

Parag, often criticised for not living up to his potential, has managed to silence his critics with three consecutive impactful knocks for the Royals. 

Batting at number four, the explosive Assam batter has proved to be the backbone of RR's batting unit, not letting them miss Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who have been off colour in this season. 

Regarding the game, the Royals had a fabulous outing with the ball, restricting MI to a paltry 125-run total, riding on sensational bowling efforts from Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult and Nandre Burger. 

Although MI's pace sensation, Akash Madhwal, rocked them with a three-fer, Parag's valiant fifty helped the inaugural champions get over the line.
