Rohit Sharma, the charismatic leader of Mumbai Indians, who has won them record five IPL titles, might find himself out of the MI setup from the 2024 IPL. According to the rumours, that are surfacing around Indian cricketing circles, Mumbai Indians might just let go their famed skipper and even Jofra Archer ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

There is also a possibility that Rohit Sharma will be traded with Hardik Pandya who has led Gujarat Titans in the last two editions. Interestingly, Hardik Pandya was part of a successful Mumbai Indian team before joining GT and the franchise seems keen to draft him again, this time as the captain of MI.

However, Rohit Sharma's future is uncertain and this will be a big blow to loyal MI and Rohit fans, if Mumbai Indians does leave out Rohit. Under Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians have won 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 edition but somehow, after the departure of Hardik Pandya and some of their key players, they have failed to live up to their billing since then. In the 2023 edition though, against all odds, they qualified for the playoffs, and it will be quite a big decision if MI decide to leave out Rohit Sharma.

Rohit recently was praised from all corners for his leadership and aggressive batting in the World Cup 2023, but it seems that he would not play T20Is for India anymore.

So, with age not on his side, and Rohit not being able to deliver to his potential with the bat in the last few IPL edition, we might just see one of the most controversial pre-auction trade in the history of the IPL.
