KL Rahul's absence from the India versus England Test Series continues as the BCCI medical team deems him unfit for the upcoming match in Rajkot. Despite being named for the last three Test matches, Rahul's participation was conditional on fitness clearance, alongside Ravindra Jadeja.

As per the latest development, the premier Indian batter has been ruled out of the upcoming Test, scheduled to be played at Rajkot from Thursday. KL Rahul's state-mate, Devdutt Padikkal, has been reportedly named his replacement for the Test match.

The selectors will monitor his condition for another week before deciding on his availability. Injuries have plagued India's lineup, with Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer already out. Devdutt Padikkal replaces Rahul, showcasing promising form in domestic cricket, adding depth to India's batting lineup.

Padikkal's form shines with a stellar 193 against Punjab and 103 against Goa in Ranji Trophy. Impressively, he notched up 105, 65 & 21 in India A's encounters with England Lions. His consistency signals a promising addition to the Indian squad, reinforcing their batting prowess for the upcoming challenges.

Injury Update; When Will KL Rahul Return?

KL Rahul remains sidelined due to a right quadriceps injury. Though not yet fully fit, Jadeja has been cleared to play the pivotal third Test. The medical team plans to monitor Rahul for another week before deciding on his return. He missed the second Test and his availability for the series remains uncertain.

If the reports are to be believed, with KL Rahul getting ruled out of the forthcoming Test match, India’s batting gets even more slimmer.
