MI New York Retain Nicholas Pooran & Kieron Pollard Ahead Of  Major League Cricket 2024

After a record breaking success of the first franchise cricket league in the United States of America, Major League Cricket is back for a second season in 2024. The first season of Major League Cricket saw a huge jump in the popularity of the tournament after multiple team franchises from the Indian Premier League invested and participated in the season.

The first season of the major league Cricket tournament saw the victory of the most successful brand in the IPL, Mumbai Indians as the MI New York lifted the maiden MLC title. MLC 2024 is set to begin from 4th July, which happens to be a national holiday of the USA on account of their Independence Day. 

The tournament has found a perfect window in the year, as it will begin four days after the conclusion of the highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, and the English T20 League, The Hundred. Ahead of the upcoming season which is approximately four months away, the defending champions have already made significant retentions for the second season.


MLC 2024 preps kickstart; star international players get retained

MI New York retained their star squad members Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Dewald Brewis, Tim David along with Kagiso Rabada, Trent Boult and Rashid Khan. The team is expecting a strong performance from their lethal bowling attack once again in the upcoming season.

The runner-ups of the season, Seattle Orcas reserved Heinrich Klaasen, and Quinton de Kock along with their captain Wayne Parnell and the Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim.

Texas Super Kings also locked in the former South African captain and their loyal Squad member Faf du Plessis for the upcoming season of Major league Cricket alongside Mitchell Santner and Devon Conway.

LA Knight Riders have retained their captain Sunil Narine, Jason Roy and Andre Russell For the upcoming tournament after a great show in the first season. The Aussie bowling unit members Spencer Johnson and Adam Zampa will also be seen representing LAKR in the tournament.

San Francisco Unicorns and Washington Freedom showed faith and reserved only two players for the upcoming tournament. San Francisco Unicorns retained Finn Allen and Harris Rauf while Washington Freedom saved Akeal Hosein and Marco Jansen who have been phenomenal in international cricket in the recent past.
