Sarfaraz Khan gained attention at a young age for his exceptional performances in the Harris Shield inter-school tournament. At the age of 12, he set a record by scoring 439 runs for Rizvi Springfield, featuring 56 fours and 12 sixes. 

His breakthrough continued with a remarkable season for the Mumbai Under-19 team, leading to his inclusion in the India Under-19 squad for the quadrangular series in 2013.

The young cricketer's performances earned him a place in the India Under-19 squad for the 2014 Under-19 World Cup in the UAE. He scored 211 runs in six games at an impressive average of 70.33, showcasing his potential on the international stage. In 2015, Sarfaraz was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL), becoming the youngest player to feature in the tournament.

The following year, he excelled in the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer with 355 runs in six matches.  In the 2015-16 domestic season, Sarfaraz Khan made a move from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh. Sarfaraz Khan, a hard-hitting batsman, made history in 2015 he was just 17 years old when he made his IPL debut for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2015. He he became the youngest player to be picked up by a franchise in the IPL Auction.  He is a highly talented cricketer, and he has the potential to make a big impact with one knock that will bring him to prominence.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team signed him, and he spent four seasons under the guidance of Virat Kohli. Sarfaraz Khan's IPL Salary

In 2015, Sarfaraz Khan played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and earned INR 50 lakhs. He continued with RCB in 2016, maintaining the same salary of INR 50 lakhs. Unfortunately, in 2017, he was injured while playing for RCB and received INR 12.5 lakhs. 

However, his fortunes changed in 2018 as his IPL salary skyrocketed to INR 3 Crore while playing for RCB. Sarfaraz Khan, who became the youngest player to feature in an IPL game. He gained overnight fame with his unbeaten knock of 45 off 21 against the Rajasthan Royals. An unforgettable moment for him was when Virat Kohli bowed in front of him after his innings. Despite his promising cameos in 2016, he was dropped from the playing XI due to his lack of fitness. He missed the following year's IPL due to a leg injury. In a surprising move, RCB retained him in 2018 ahead of Chris Gayle and KL Rahul, which raised many eyebrows.
