Mumbai Indians had plenty to celebrate after their women’s team stormed into the WPL 2025 final with a dominant win against Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator. But attention was drawn elsewhere to a sweet moment between the two captains of MI, namely Hardik Pandya and Harmanpreet Kaur.

The WPL 2025 eliminator was an entertaining affair as Mumbai Indians Women beat Gujarat Giants Women by 47 runs to book their spot in the final. Mumbai’s batter showcased class, posting 213 runs giant total on the board in the first inning.

The bowling unit did the rest, restricting the Giants to 166 runs, hence taking home a dominant 47-run victory.

Hardik Pandya Congratulates MI-W Captain Harmanpreet Kaur

Meanwhile, MI-W had plenty of support during the eliminator game as Mumbai Indians’ men’s team cheered for them. Skipper Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma and Kieron Pollard donned MI-W’s kit and supported the team with cheers and applause.

Moreover, Hardik went on to congratulate MI-W captain Harmanpreet Kaur as the two captains shook hands and posed for an iconic photograph.

While MI-W has qualified for their second final in WPL, MI will also aim to emulate the same during the upcoming IPL 2025 season. Under Pandya’s captaincy, the team finished at the bottom of the table last year.

However, with a fresh squad and a renewed sense of energy, Mumbai Indians will aim for a much better campaign.

In the meantime, Mumbai Indians Women will face Delhi Capitals Women in the final of WPL 2025 scheduled on March 15 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Setback For MI! Jasprit Bumrah Unavailable Due To Injury

Mumbai Indians are set to begin their IPL 2025 campaign without their star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, as the speedster is likely to miss the first three matches due to a back injury.

Bumrah, who sustained the injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, was ruled out of the Champions Trophy and is currently undergoing rehabilitation at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.

While his participation in IPL 2025 was uncertain, reports now suggest that he will return in early April, likely missing MI’s first three fixtures.
