Hardik Pandya is one of the most dynamic all-rounders in the IPL. Over the years, he has played a crucial role for both Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT). He started his IPL journey with MI, where he was part of the team that won four IPL titles. However, in 2022, MI released him, and Gujarat Titans signed him, making him their captain.

Pandya’s captaincy debut with GT was nothing short of spectacular. In his very first season as captain in 2022, he led the team to their maiden IPL title. In 2023, he once again took GT to the final, but they finished as runners-up. Despite his success with Gujarat, MI brought him back in 2024 through a high-profile trade worth ₹15 crore and handed him the captaincy of their team.

Hardik Pandya’s Overall Captaincy Record

Hardik has led two teams in the IPL—Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. As a captain, he has played 45 matches so far. Out of these, he has won 26 matches and lost 19.

With Gujarat Titans, Pandya had an impressive run as captain. He led the team in 31 matches, winning 22 and losing only 9. His leadership helped Gujarat become one of the strongest teams in the IPL in just two seasons.

However, his stint as MI’s captain has been a mixed one so far. As of now, he has captained Mumbai Indians in 14 matches, winning 4 and losing 10.
