Matthew Wade is enjoying a dream run during Australia’s tour to India for a three-match T20I series. The wicketkeeper-batter has filed a case to be one of the best finishers for Australia with his sensational performances in the first two T20 Internationals.

While Australia were chasing 209 in the first T20 International in Mohali, Wade smacked 45* runs off just 21 balls. His knock included six boundaries and two maximums as the Men in Yellow registered a victory in the 19.2 overs. The second T20 International did not go in the favor of the visitors as they lost by six wickets.

However, Wade was at his best as he continued the momentum from the previous game. The 34-year-old hammered 43* runs in just 20 balls to take Australia to a score of 90 runs in eight overs. The back-to-back scintillating performances have made Wade the top run-scorer after two T20Is.

Wade speaks about the Indian pitches

Speaking about his batting exploits, the wicketkeeper mentioned that batting down the order is something that he has enjoyed lately. He also seemed happy about playing in India as at times it can be a little challenging.

Wade said as quoted by India Today:

"It's something I've really enjoyed since just before the World Cup last summer. That's when I switched. It's a different role, the game dictates the way that you need to go and play. It's been nice to go out there and contribute in the first couple of games. It's nice to play in India where the ball can travel, it's good to see the whole team under a bit of pressure at times.”

Further, the middle-order batter reflected on the importance of the three-match series for the Australian team. He believes that going into the World Cup, these matches will help a lot as they will be able to decode their perfect playing XI.

"We are going to learn a lot, we've got these three games luckily and then we've got 4-5 games back home leading into the World Cup. It's nice to have the full squad together.”
