After two successful seasons, SA20 is all set for its third instalment, with all six franchises getting themselves well-oiled before the tournament starts on January 7, 2025. In the latest update coming in, Durban's Super Giants (DSG) have penned deals with former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and English all-rounder Chris Woakes.

On Friday, the franchise announced Kane Williamson's appointment using a social media post for the X platform. Meanwhile, Woakes' signing has yet to be made official; however, a report has confirmed it.

The report further stated that the last date for retention was July 21. Meanwhile, franchises can pen deals with new signees by August 31 as "direct signings". A couple of days ago, the Super Giants signed Brandon King ahead of the SA20 2025.

The Kiwi batter, who has played over 250 T20s worldwide, recently declined his central contract from New Zealand Cricket to play in the T20 league worldwide. Williamson is a renowned name in the IPL, where he has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.

Meanwhile, Chris Woakes, who played a major role in England's World Cup triumph in the 2019 World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup, has also played for IPL teams RCB, DC, KKR, and PBKS.

Interestingly, neither player has played for DSG's sister IPL franchise - Lucknow Super Giants.
