In a significant development, Vancouver Knights have replaced ace Pakistani batters, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, with veteran Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja and South Africa's prominent opener, Reeza Hendricks, for the ongoing Global T20 tournament.

Babar and Rizwan had requested the Pakistan Cricket Board for No Objection Certificates, which the apex body denied to manage their workload ahead of a packed cricketing season.

Khawaja, Hendricks replace Babar and Rizwan

After the PCB denied NOCs to Babar and Rizwan, Vancouver Knights roped in Khawaja and Hendricks as their replacements for the marquee event. In fact, Khawaja replaces Rizwan as the Knights' captain.

In 116 T20 innings, the stylish southpaw has amassed 3269 runs, including three hundreds at an average of 30.26 and a strike rate of 130.39. Considering he leads Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, his captaincy will be crucial for the Knights in the competition.

On the other hand, Reeza Hendricks is renowned for his flamboyant strokeplay in white-ball cricket. Having represented several franchises, Hendricks is expected to play a key role for the Knights in the Global T20.

Mohammad Amir is the only player from Pakistan in Vancouver Knights' Global T20 squad. In the most recent encounter, Amir went wicketless, while recording a duck with the bat.
