Kuldeep Yadav is one of India's most mystical and skilful spinners, renowned for his left-arm wrist spin. Making his international debut in 2017, Kuldeep quickly rose to prominence with his ability to deceive batters with flight, turn, and variations.

Besides his dominance in international cricket, Kuldeep is also a household name in the Indian Premier League (IPL). After his debut in 2016, the spinner only went on to achieve greater heights.

As of IPL 2025, Kuldeep Yadav is associated with Delhi Capitals (DC).Before the mega auction took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, DC retained for a mega price of INR 13.25 crore. He had joined Delhi back in 2022 and after consistent performance through the past seasons, the franchise reinstated trust in him. 

He began his  IPL journey began in 2012 with Mumbai Indians (MI). However, after failing to get a debut game, he moved to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014. Yet, his luck did not favour him as he sat on the bench for two long seasons. His debut finally happened with KKR in 2016. 

From 2016-2022, Kuldeep had a breakthrough period with KKR, establishing himself as a promising wrist-spinner. However, after struggling with form and injuries, he was released by KKR in the 2022 IPL mega auction.

In 2022, Delhi Capitals (DC) signed him. As of the IPL 2025 season, Kuldeep Yadav continues to remain the core for Delhi Capitals as he was retained by the franchise before the mega auction.

Kuldeep Yadav first entered the IPL auction in 2012, where Mumbai Indians picked him for INR 10 lakh but did not play a game. In 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) picked him for INR 40 lakh. In 2018, KKR retained him for INR 5.8 crore. However, inconsistent performances and injuries saw him released in 2021. 

At the 2022 mega auction, Delhi Capitals (DC) secured him for a reduced price of INR 2 crore. His impressive performances in the next two seasons led DC to retain him for a massive INR 13.25 crore ahead of IPL 2025. So in total, he has played for two teams, KKR and DC.

Kuldeep was retained for a substantial amount of INR 13.25 crore, reflecting the franchise's confidence in his abilities and his importance to their bowling lineup. Having joined the franchise back in 2022, the spinner has been a consistent performer and was rewarded for the same.
