Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) welcomed newly minted captain Rajat Patidar with a cinematic video. The video shows a fan passing on the flag to Patidar as he officially joined the camp for the IPL 2025 season.
The IPL 2025 season is around the corner with the opening match between RCB and defending champions KKR scheduled for March 22. With 10 days left for the mega carnival to begin, players have begun joining camps.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 winning Indian team members also joined their respective teams straight from Dubai.
RCB begins new era with Rajat Patidar
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are still in search of their maiden IPL title. Since the last 18 years, the franchise has been struggling to cross the finish line despite having some of the finest players in world cricket representing them, including Virat Kohli.
That being said, for the IPL 2025 season, RCB has embraced a new era with young captain Rajat Patidar. The batter was announced as Faf du Plessis’ successor last month.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 season opening game, Patidar officially arrived in Bengaluru to join the team camp. RCB shot a special welcome video for the new captain which shows a fan passing on the team flag to Patidar, marking the beginning of a new era under his reign.
RCB have made many changes to their squad for the 2025 season. Virat Kohli will continue to mentor and groom Patidar whereas seniors like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya will also shoulder responsibility.
