KL Rahul opened up on his true feelings during the final overs of the Champions Trophy 2025 final. Rahul, who got India through the line, said he battled immense pressure to win a trophy for his country.
India beat New Zealand by four wickets to win the Champions Trophy 2025 title, ending a wait of 12 years. The final, held in Dubai, was not easy as India struggled in a 252-run chase. Rohit’s commanding 76 off 83 balls got the team off to a good start before Shreyas Iyer added crucial 48 runs.

Meanwhile, the onus to finish the game fell on KL Rahul’s shoulder who walked in to bat at no.6. He played a match-winning knock of 34 off 33 balls to stay at the crease until the end and finish the game for India.
Meanwhile, recalling those nervy final overs of the chase, Rahul admitted that he felt the pressure. However, he tried to calm himself down and backed his ability to play his shots freely without any fear of failure.
Later in the video shared by BCCI, Rahul thanked the almighty for giving him an opportunity to be a match-winner for his side at a big stage such as the ICC Champions Trophy final.
Rahul has been under the scanner over his form before the beginning of the tournament. His batting position was also changed as he got dropped as low as no.6 However, KL embraced the change and utilised his opportunities to make a mark and cement his place in the team.
