The excitement for the second edition is expected to be even higher, as several DPL stars made their mark in the recently concluded IPL season.
Notably, Priyansh Arya, who plays for South Delhi Superstars, won the Player of the Tournament award in DPL for his outstanding performances. His success earned him a contract with Punjab Kings, and the left-handed batter starred for the IPL 2025 finalists, cementing his place in the team. Arya scored 475 runs in 17 innings at an average of 27.94. He also smashed a century during IPL 2025.

Digvesh Rathi, another standout from the DPL, took 14 wickets in 10 innings for South Delhi Superstars. The right-arm spinner was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants for ₹30 lakhs and went on to take 14 wickets in 13 IPL innings, finishing as LSG’s star bowler.
"A total of 14 cricketers who competed in DPL played in the IPL—players like Digvesh Rathi, Ayush Badoni, and Priyansh Arya, among others," Sharma said, adding that there are plans to give a boost to women’s cricket as well.
Stadium Upgrades and Recognition
The DDCA director also mentioned plans to renovate the stadium and improve facilities. Notably, the DDCA won the award for the best pitch during IPL 2025. There were complaints of poor amenities at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
