Ambati Rayudu's choice for the best team of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Star Sports certainly reflected the standout performers of the season. 

His decision to include Virat Kohli and Sunil Narine as openers was well-founded, given their exceptional performances. Kohli, being the Orange Cap holder, signified his dominance in run-scoring, while Narine's versatility and impact had earned him the title of ‘Most Valuable Player’. 

Notably, Rayudu's team did not feature senior cricketers like Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, who had underwhelming seasons.

Moreover, Rayudu's decision to leave out players like Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma was intriguing, possibly indicating that their performances, although commendable, did not match the consistent excellence of those he selected.

In his team, Sanju Samson at No. 3 has been included in the team as he has been in commendable form with Riyan Parag at No. 4.

It was surprising to see Rinku Singh make his side after not having the best of seasons. Kolkata Knight Riders Andre Russell picked up the allrounder’s spot along with Ravindra Jadeja.

Heinrich Klaasen, who has been one of the major reasons for SRH’s dominance this season, finds a spot in Rayudu’s side. Jasprit Bumrah, Avesh Khan and Trent Boult make it to the side as the three pacers.

The inclusion of Virat Kohli in his team raised eyebrows as he had been recently criticizing RCB and the dynamic cricketer.
