The ongoing Indian Premier League has been about the KL Rahul redemption and the saga continued in the just concluded IPL 2025 match Vs his former franchise, Lucknow Super Giants. In a tricky chase of 160, KL Rahul stayed till the end and created history with his unbeaten knock.

KL Rahul creates history

He became the fastest batter to 5,000 runs in IPL history. The DC batter achieved this magnificent in just 130 IPL innings. The second quickest to this feat is David Warner, who reached the feat in 135 innings.

Fastest 5000 runs in IPL

Virat Kohli, the RCB opener sits at the third position as he achieved the feat in 157 innings, meanwhile his former teammate, AB de Villiers is at the 4th place and Shikhar Dhawan is at 5th. Currently, KL Rahul has 5006 runs in the league, at an average of 46.35 and a strike rate of 135.70.

DC beat LSG for second successive game

After winning a nail-biter against LSG at the start of the season, DC once again showed their class against them, but this time in a one-sided contest.

Put into bat first, LSG openers, Aiden Markram and Mitch Marsh added 87 runs for the first wicket, but once they departed, wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Barring Ayush Badoni, who provided the finishing touches, none of the middle order batters stood tall as a target of 160 was chased down easily.

KL Rahul remained unbeaten at 57, while captain Axar Patel was unbeaten at 34 off 20 as the target was chased inside 17.5 overs.
