He also played a brilliant knock of 86 runs in the first innings of the Hyderabad test in January but got injured and could not participate in the remaining four Tests.

Recently,Nicholas Pooran was announced as the vice-captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, which created speculations regarding KL Rahul missing out on the first few games. He even missed out on most of the last season owing to the injury, but this time he would hope to play the entire season as he is expected to be fit by the start of the season.

Each team is prepping up for the upcoming T20 World Cup and with India being unsure about Rishabh Pant's fitness, KL Rahul might be considered as the keeper choice. Ishan Kishan, who was axed from the BCCI's central contract, might not make it to the T20 World Cup team, which will give an edge to KL Rahul.

According to reports, KL Rahul can be seen batting in the middle-order in order to provide strength to LSG's batting and even prepare himself for the big tournament.
