Pakistan's renowned keeper-batter Mohammad Haris sparked controversy with a bizarre statement in the ongoing Champions One Day Cup. Haris, who is leading the Stallions in the tournament, said that he was happy following his side's recent defeat against Markhors.

Batting first, the Markhors posted a respectable 231-run total on the board, riding on valiant half-centuries from Iftikhar Ahmed and Agha Salman. In response, the Stallions lost wickets at regular intervals, being bowled out for 105 runs and losing the game by 126 runs.

In the post-match presentation, Haris revealed that he would happily take the defeat as it let his side know their weakness at an early stage of the competition. The explosive right-hander explained that as the Stallions won while batting first in their tournament opener, they decided to test their run-chasing ability in this face-off.

So, as the middle-order batter revealed, the defeat against the Markhors highlighted their loopholes and would help them prepare better for their upcoming fixtures in the Champions Cup

Stallions' Mixed Journey In Champions Cup

Led by Mohammad Haris, the Stallions had an outstanding start to their campaign, securing a clinical win over the Lions in their first match. While Babar Azam struck a magnificent half-century before being dismissed by Shaheen Afridi, skipper Haris showcased his incredible finishing skills towards the backend of the innings. Their bowling unit had an even more clinical outing, dismantling the Lions for 203 runs.

However, they failed to extend their winning streak, with the Markhors thrashing them in their subsequent affair. Despite restricting the Mohammad Rizwan-led side to a paltry total, the Stallions fell like a pack of cards, incurring a disastrous defeat in the match. They are currently placed third in the points table and will take on the Dolphins in their upcoming group-stage affair.
