The Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner, but the tournament host, Pakistan and the International Cricket Council (ICC) are in the middle of a serious crisis, with India not ready to travel to its neighbouring country. PCB too is adamant that it will not host the tournament in a hybrid model and it would be interesting to see how things unfold from hereon.

Various former cricketers and renowned journalists have opened up on India not travelling to Pakistan and Pakistan cricket faternity is clearly not happy with how BCCI and Indian goverment has gone about its business. 

Shahid Afridi Wants Countries To Prioritise Development Of Cricket

Now, Shahid Afridi has also posted on his official X handle and has urged India to travel to Pakistan for the overall growth of the game. The former Pakistan skipper mentioned that cricket is at crossroads and some big challenges and it is time for everyone to come together and work for the benefit of the game while keeping their differences and egos aside.

Shahid Afridi stated that if the nations that have been enemies in the past can come together for Olympic, why can't it happen in cricket. He added that every country will be welcomed in Pakistan and they would go with some unforgettable memories.

The tentative schedule for Champions Trophy 2025 has all India matches in Lahore with tournament starting from February 19 to March 9. However, there is now a possibility that thr tournament will be posptoned or will be played in any other country if Pakistan do not agree to the hybrid model.
